The Average Price of Truck Cranes in Mexico Drops by 24% to $13,510 per Unit

Mexico Truck Crane Import Price in April 2023

In April 2023, the truck crane price amounted to $13,510 per unit (CIF, Mexico), waning by -24.1% against the previous month. In general, the import price saw a perceptible decline. The growth pace was the most rapid in March 2023 when the average import price increased by 166% against the previous month. The import price peaked at $22,522 per unit in April 2022; however, from May 2022 to April 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.

Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In April 2023, the country with the highest price was the United States ($14,363 per unit), while the price for Canada totaled $10,143 per unit.

From April 2022 to April 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United States (+3.8%).

Mexico Truck Crane Imports

In April 2023, approximately 94 units of truck cranes were imported into Mexico; rising by 6.8% against the previous month. Overall, imports, however, saw a abrupt decrease. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in December 2022 with an increase of 70% m-o-m. Imports peaked at 1K units in February 2023; however, from March 2023 to April 2023, imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, truck crane imports declined dramatically to $1.3M (IndexBox estimates) in April 2023. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a abrupt decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in August 2022 with an increase of 113% month-to-month. Imports peaked at 6.8M units in February 2023; however, from March 2023 to April 2023, imports remained at a lower figure.

Mexico Truck Crane Imports by Country

In April 2023, the United States (75 units) constituted the largest supplier of truck crane to Mexico, accounting for a 80% share of total imports. Moreover, truck crane imports from the United States exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Canada (19 units), fourfold.

From April 2022 to April 2023, the average monthly growth rate of volume from the United States amounted to -6.2%.

In value terms, the United States ($1.1M) constituted the largest supplier of truck crane to Mexico, comprising 85% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Canada ($193K), with a 15% share of total imports.

From April 2022 to April 2023, the average monthly growth rate of value from the United States amounted to -2.6%.
