The Western logistics company hosted the “Groundbreaking Ceremony” to commemorate the implementation of the planned facility which will serve as a centralized resource for the companies eight-state region and better serve their 65 million consumer base.
The company boasts an impressive 30-year industry footprint in Western Nevada with a primary focus on expansion. This vision is anticipated to increase jobs and overall pay while servicing customers at a higher standard.
The 185,000 square-foot facility will be located in Reno, Nevada and is predicted to be in full swing by October 2019, providing OnTrac customers expedited deliveries and increased packaging efficiencies. The final product will be the first the company has built from the ground-up.
“We were researching many other locations to serve as our new hub, but we worked really closely with the City of Reno and EDAWN to help make this project possible,” OnTrac CFO Tom Fischer said. “In the past, we have moved into existing buildings, but this time we wanted to build a ground-up facility to best serve our needs and be the home to the company’s first-ever automated Material Handling System (MHS). With Reno’s central location to our region and the new automated Material Handling System, OnTrac will be able to provide its customers with cost-efficient and timely services above its competitors.”
