WATCH: US-UK Trade Pact: Not a Good Deal
As British voters decided to leave the European Union, former President Barack Obama warned that the United Kingdom would be shunted to the back of the line of countries with which the United States would pursue trade deals. The Trump has taken a somewhat different tack, saying he would welcome negotiating such an arrangement “at the appropriate time.”
Adam Posen, president of the Peterson Institute for International Economics argues in this video that a trade agreement with the United Kingdom would not serve wider US strategic interests.
