  • Trump appointed Peter Navarro to run the White House office of trade and manufacturing policy.

President Donald Trump signed an executive order on Saturday establishing a White House office of trade and manufacturing policy. He appointed Peter Navarro, already head of the National trade Council, to run the unit.

The president also said he was directing Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross to identify every instance of a violation of United States trade laws. He added that if violators do not comply, their trade agreements will be terminated.

The president added, “The White House Office of Trade and Manufacturing Strategy will work against those who would steal our jobs and threaten our manufacturing base.”
