U.S. Foods Implements FourKites Real-time Tracking Platform
U.S. Foods, one of the largest food distribution companies in the United States, has recently chosen to implement FourKites real-time load tracking platform to help modernize its logistics operations.
With the implementation of FourKites, U.S. Foods will be able to access real-time location information and the ETAs of every truck carrying its products. With access to rich information across their carrier base, U.S. Foods’ customer service team can proactively manage exceptions and provide answers immediately, without calls to dispatchers or drivers. The ability to see all active loads on a map with easy-to-access, hover-over details allows everyone, including end-customers, to be on the same page and united under one goal — on-time and hassle-free deliveries.
FourKites provides comprehensive real-time tracking and supply chain visibility solutions across transportation modes and digital platforms. Using FourKites, the shipper, the broker, and the carrier can share the same, real-time truck location and shipment status information—from more than 45 onboard systems used by fleets to individual owner-operator cell phones.
U.S. Foods, with 25,000 employees and over 60 locations and which runs one of the largest refrigerated supply chains in the country, evaluated several players before deciding on FourKites. “We are impressed with FourKites’ ability to work with carriers of every size and integrate with in-cab ELDs and driver cell phones. It was important for us to partner with a technology provider trusted by our carrier and broker network,” says Ray Kredell, vice president of operations at U.S. Foods.
In the coming months, U.S. Foods will begin rolling out the FourKites platform beyond the logistics customer service team. With sales, warehouse operations, and other internal teams all on the same page, the company can reduce redundancies and streamline operations, providing the same great customer service more efficiently.
“U.S. Foods has a long history of building an innovative supply chain,” said Matt Elenjickal, CEO, FourKites. “We are extremely proud to partner with such a dynamic organization and see our cutting-edge connected-devices platform making a huge difference in a short timeframe.”
