The President made these remarks during a meeting with Polish President Karol Nawrocki, following his administration’s appeal to the Supreme Court to overturn a recent U.S. appeals court ruling that found many of the imposed tariffs to be illegal. He argued that a loss in the case would cause the country to “suffer so greatly” and could jeopardize recently completed agreements. Data from the IndexBox platform indicates that these trade policies have significantly altered import and export flows, affecting key sectors.
Trump asserted that the tariffs paved the way for new agreements, specifically citing a completed deal with the EU. He suggested that without a favorable Supreme Court ruling, these negotiated deals would be at risk.
