The Largest Ship Ever to Call at U.S. Port is on Her Way Back to the U.S.

  • After completing her U.S. maiden calls the CMA CGM BENJAMIN FRANKLIN left the United States on January 4.

The CMA CGM BENJAMIN FRANKLIN successfully completed her Chinese calls by leaving the port of Yantian on Thursday, February 4.

The 18,000-TEU vessel is now crossing the Pacific Ocean, heading to the Port of Long Beach. The CMA CGM BENJAMIN FRANKLIN will be inaugurated on February 19.

In late December 2015, the CMA CGM BENJAMIN FRANKLIN became the largest vessel ever to call at a U.S. port. After successfully completing her American maiden calls in Los Angeles and Oakland, she left the United States on January 4.

This vessel reached China in Xiamen on January 30. Then she called at the ports of Nansha and Hong Kong respectively on February 1st and 2nd. After having completed her last call in Yantian, the CMA CGM BENJAMIN FRANKLIN left China on February 4.

After four successful calls in China, the BENJAMIN FRANKLIN is now sailing back to the U.S., loaded with all kinds of goods coming from Asia such as electronic devices, toys, furniture, and building materials.
