Seal Manufacturer Expands Manufacturing, Logistics Capacities
Cambridge Security Seals (CSS), a manufacturer of tamper-evident seals and asset protection solutions, has expanded its manufacturing capacity.
The move comes in response to the trend of growing turnaround times for custom products within the industry.
As a key part of Phase II of the New York-based company’s multiyear expansion plan, this enhancement includes expanding the physical footprint of its facilities by more than 25 percent to accommodate the addition of several new high-speed automated production lines that will increase production capacity by more than 25 percent.
According to Brian Lyle, President of CSS, the expansion also includes the hiring of new manufacturing personnel and increasing the logistics capabilities and warehousing capacity to more effectively meet the demands that CSS is facing from its rapid global growth and the overall capacity strains within the industry.
“CSS has long recognized that shortening lead times is extremely important to our customers and the industry in general,” he said. “By choosing to expand in a way that directly improves our ability to reduce lead times, we have positioned ourselves to more effectively and expediently serve the needs of our customers and the market.”
A key element of CSS’ growth within the security solutions industry has been its dramatic expansion beyond North America into the global marketplace. Highlighted by the successful launch of CSS Europe in 2015, CSS now services customers across five continents with its array of tamper-evident, high-security, electronic, and GPS-based supply chain security and asset protection solutions.
Cambridge Security Seals is one of the fastest growing private companies in the US. The company has experienced a three year growth rate of almost 500 percent. CSS has also doubled the size of its workforce over that period which, according to Lyle, points to the “importance of ensuring quality people running a quality-focused operation.”
