Shanghai Air Cargo Handler Had Record 2015
Shanghai Pudong International Airport Cargo Terminal Co., Ltd. (PACTL) expects to have set a new record for freight volumes in 2015.
It has achieved tonnage growth of 6.82 percent year-on-year, having processed 1,458,263 tons of freight overall during the first eleven months of the year. The company handled more than 1.5 million tons of air freight for the very first time in 2014.
PACTL’s domestic cargo volume grew by 8.47 percent year-on-year to 94,707 tons during the first eleven months of 2015, while its international cargo volumes rose by 6.71 percent to 1,363,556 tons. Imports increased by 9.08 percent to 590,669 tons, while exports grew by 5.33 percent to 867,594 tons.
“Even though growth rates have been stronger in the past, I can still see a positive trend in our business and this will almost certainly enable us to set another record for freight volumes in 2015” says Lutz Grzegorz, vice president of PACTL.
