  • InTemp's CX400 Series provides an alternative to USB-based loggers, which require more steps to operate.
  • InTemp CX400 Series created a simpler way to monitor the temperature of pharmaceuticals.
  • InTemp mobile app for Android and iOS extends flexibility to manage InTemp loggers.

Onset, a supplier of data loggers and monitoring solutions, announced that the free InTemp mobile app for the company’s InTemp CX400 Series products for pharmaceutical cold chain monitoring applications now supports Android mobile devices.

The InTemp CX400 Series includes a range of high-performance Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) data loggers for monitoring temperatures in refrigerators, freezers, and controlled-temperature storage areas. The InTemp mobile app enables users to easily view temperature data from CX400 loggers, check logger status, set alarms, and create and share secure PDF reports from their Android and iOS mobile devices.

Leveraging the ease-of-use of mobile devices, the CX400 Series provides an affordable and highly-accessible alternative to USB-based loggers—which require more steps to operate—and manual thermometers, which are susceptible to error and have contributed to the loss of vaccine supplies and efficacy around the globe.

“In bringing our InTemp CX400 Series to market, we created a much simpler way to monitor the temperature of pharmaceuticals stored in refrigerators and freezers, and added more functionality for a lower cost,” said Jessica Frackelton, senior manager of product marketing for Onset. “Now, by offering our InTemp mobile app for both Android and iOS – the world’s most widely-adopted mobile platforms – we are significantly extending customers’ flexibility to manage our InTemp loggers when and where they are needed, on their device of choice.”

Designed to simplify compliance with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) vaccine monitoring guidelines, InTemp CX400 loggers dramatically simplify and augment the monitoring process by incorporating daily temperature checks into the logger record as an option, speeding up logger setup and download, and streamlining the ability to share historical temperature data.

The loggers feature an easy-to-read display of the current temperature, as well as the daily minimum and maximum. They provide +/- 0.5C data accuracy, and deliver audible and visual alarms in the event of a temperature excursion or a disconnected temperature probe.

The new Android-based InTemp app – like its iOS counterpart – enables easy and efficient logger setup and data download in seconds, without the need for a PC or cable. Users can choose from a range of preset configurations—for example, clinical refrigerator or ambient storage monitoring—as well as user-created custom configurations for other applications as needed. And, the app helps meet regulatory compliance requirements for storage monitoring quickly and effectively by enabling users to download and send data in one simple step and create and share secure PDF reports.
