  • Combining supply chain visibility and freight tracking gives a best-in-class customer experience.
  • 10-4 provides automated alerts for shipments running off schedule.
  • Supply chain information is continuously recalculated to give customers real-time ETAs.

MacroPoint, creator of patented freight tracking software, has announced that 10-4 Systems is licensing the company’s technology.

10-4 Systems is technology company that provides end-to-end supply chain shipment visibility to Fortune 500 companies based in Boulder, Colorado.

Combining 10-4’s supply chain visibility technology and MacroPoint’s freight tracking software, will give a best-in-class customer experience for both shippers and carriers, according to MacroPoint. 10-4 is able to provide automated alerts for shipments running early, on-time, in jeopardy, or late. To ensure accurate data, this information is continuously recalculated to give customers real-time ETAs and the ability to share this information internally.

“We are partnering with MacroPoint because of the vast number of freight carriers already connected to its network,” said Travis Rhyan, president and CEO of 10-4. “Our shipper customers now receive instant visibility to all of their carriers and can visualize the data inside of our dashboard and analytics platform.”

The Cleveland-based MacroPoint is the exclusive owner of a United States patent for monitoring location of freight using mobile devices such as ELDs and cell phones. The company sells its technology to third parties in the supply chain such as freight brokers and shippers. The company was issued the patent by the United States Patent and Trademark Office in August after rejecting a protest by a competitor.

Through integration with in-cab telematics devices, trailer and container tracking systems, driver cell phones, and transportation management systems, MacroPoint provides complete visibility to third-party logistics providers, brokers, shippers, and carriers. The proprietary predictive analytics software allows third parties to view all loads hauled by a variety of carriers and concentrate only on the loads at potential for missing delivery windows.

“We have received a lot of licensing interest since our latest patent issued,” said MacroPoint CEO Bennett Adelson. “Many partners and competitors have been reaching out to us with ideas of how to work together and leverage our invention in new and interesting ways. We welcome 10-4 as a licensee and partner in doing that. The visualization tools they have developed are state of the art and top notch. This deal ensures that end users are now properly licensed and able to continue incorporating our technology into their standard operating procedures for the long term.”
