A new U.S. Regional Trade Center (USRTC) in Chile has opened its doors “giving U.S. businesses looking to launch or expand in Latin America an extra in-country advantage.”

The 6,000 square foot office, located across the street from the U.S. Embassy in the Chilean capital of Santiago, is owned and operated by international marketing and trade exhibition firm, Kallman Worldwide.

“When Latin America buyers and decision-makers look for leadership and innovation in their businesses, we want them to think of the U.S. Regional Trade Center first,” said the New Jersey-headquartered company’s President and CEO, Tom Kallman at the dedication of the facility. “That’s why we designed this professional, multi-purpose office environment to function as a year-round international trade event focused on the companies that work here.”

“Our entire 11th floor space features quality amenities to support the purposeful exporting of U.S. equipment, products and services. And we’re adding a schedule of professional education programs and networking activities to help our tenants become fluent experts in how to conduct business in this part of the world,” he said.

Featuring ten offices suites ranging in size from 100 to 250 square feet, shared meeting and conference rooms, a reception area, office equipment, and high-speed Internet, the new USRTC “will create a community of like-minded companies that can work together to their mutual advantage,” added Peter McKenna, vice president of strategic planning at Kallman Worldwide.

The new USRTC, he said, will give U.S. businesses operating out of the facility “ready access to the assistance available from the U.S. Department of Commerce, the U.S. Commercial Service, the American Chamber of Commerce, the Chilean Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Trade Chile and CIE Chile.”

Kallman Worldwide has already received “considerable interest” in the new center from “several companies in the aerospace, healthcare, renewable energy and technology sectors,” said McKenna.

While the center is Kallman Worldwide’s first permanent overseas trade promotion facility, the company “is exploring opportunities to open more trade centers in other growing global markets,” said McKenna,

Commenting on the opening of the new Santiago trade promotion office, Trade Chile Executive Director, Jaime Bazan, said his trade promotion organization “will be an active partner with Kallman to develop the USRTC as an innovative, practical model for international trade partnerships.”
