India’s Air Cargo Exports Rise 9.8% as Ocean Freight Volumes Decline
According to The Loadstar, India’s refrigerated/reefer cargo owners and cold chain logistics providers are bearing the brunt of a downturn in export ocean freight volumes. Data from Container xChange shows a 6.3% year-on-year decline in India’s container export volumes for November.

The port of Nhava Sheva saw a 9.2% drop in container export volumes in November. Meanwhile, air cargo exports from India have grown, with volumes rising by 9.8% year-on-year in November.
Logistics firms report that air cargo demand is primarily driven by high-value items like pharmaceuticals, perishables, and electronics. A logistics executive stated that the air cargo growth is “not huge but is a positive signal.”
