  • Through acquisition, GSA customers will have access to services offered by the IMC companies.

IMC Global Solutions (IGS) announced this week that it has acquired Global Shippers Association (GSA), a leader in the importing of home furnishings.  The acquisition will more than double the size of IGS.

GSA customers will now have access to the suite of services offered by the IMC companies including customs brokerage, truck brokerage, and access to more than 1,500 drivers.

“For some time, we have been seeking out opportunities to expand our reach and customer base,” said Mason George, president of IGS.  “GSA presented a prime opportunity to purchase a company whose customers fully appreciate the value of shipping with an efficiencies-focused logistics expert.”

GSA will continue to operate as an association with the same leadership team, and they will continue to be dedicated to the import of home furnishings.

“We are pleased to welcome into our family a like-minded organization that focuses on maximizing efficiencies, providing competitive value and superior customer service,” said Mark George, chairman of IMC Companies.  “IGS is creating a platform for IMC Companies to provide a more complete transportation solution for import/export customers, enabling us to remain focused on leading the industry in international trade.”

IMC Companies is a national network of intermodal logistics businesses providing services including container drayage, customs house brokerage, truck brokerage, freight forwarding, warehousing, chassis provisioning, and secured container storage.
