K Line Group Introduces New Total Auto Logistics Business in Vietnam

K Line-Gemadept Logistics Co. (KGL), a joint venture between K Line and Gemadept Corporation which handles Total Logistics Services in Vietnam, has started an auto logistics service in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, beginning at the end of October, 2016.

Recently, customer requirements for services related to automobiles within Asian countries that are experiencing strong economic growth and development have been on the increase. With the combined know-how of the two joint venture companies, KGL provides the required value-added service that can successfully satisfy the logistics needs for passenger vehicles, trucks, and construction machinery in Vietnam.

KGL secured land area totaling 215,000 square feet within an industrial park, near Saigon Premier Container Terminal (SPCT-Ho Chi Minh Port, where K Line-operated Pure Car Carriers call at periodic intervals, and launched a dedicated facility called VPC (Vehicle Processing Center). KGL already contracted last October with a Japanese Auto & Truck manufacturer, and started services for car-storage and customs clearance. In addition, KGL will expand its service scope of pre-delivery inspection to include installation of DVD systems, painting, repair, and washing beginning January 2017. KGL is the first company to provide Total Auto Logistics for complete built-up in Vietnam.

K Line Group places Logistics Business as a stable profit-making sector in its medium-term management plan, and by following this strategy, K Line is further enhancing its automobile logistics business that is already in operation in Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, India, Australia, and Brazil. The company said in a statement that it will continue to make every effort and do its best for achieving maximum customer satisfaction in Vietnam by utilizing its many years of experience and know-how in sea transportation by Pure Car Carrier vessels.
