Carmichael International Service, one of North America’s largest customs brokerage and trade compliance specialists, has announced that it has expanded its service offerings to Mexico through an agreement with Mexico’s Carmi Logistics.

The expansion creates a seamless Carmichael network across the United States, Canada, and Mexico that will benefit customers transacting business in the NAFTA region. Carmichael’s North American network is further backed by its parent company’s expertise in global trade compliance and international network in more than 60 countries.

“We are very excited to extend our full suite of services into Mexico, which is among the world’s fastest-growing manufacturing centers,” said Todd Boice, President of Carmichael International Service. “We are also delighted to take this step with Carmi Logistics, which is an experienced and well-regarded customs brokerage firm in Mexico. This expansion is part of our commitment to providing customers with comprehensive customs brokerage services and solutions for all of their import-export needs in North America and a broader global offering through APL Logistics.”

In Mexico, Carmichael will provide services such as crossborder customs brokerage, inland transfer, and consolidation, using a combination of Carmichael’s and Carmi Logistics’ U.S. and Mexico clearance capabilities. Shippers can use these services solely for U.S.-Mexico border crossings or in conjunction with Carmichael’s other U.S. and Canadian service offerings.

“We are pleased to be working with Carmichael and its clients as they grow their business in Mexico, and look forward to helping them provide a seamless customer experience,” said Hector Carmona Rosales, President of Carmi Logistics.

Carmichael is a division of APL Logistics that employs over 200 professionals in 12 U.S. metropolitan markets and numerous locations in Canada. Carmi Logistics is a longtime Mexican customs broker that holds numerous Mexico and U.S. customs brokerage licenses. It operates more than 20 offices at key U.S.-Mexico ports and border crossing operations and offers a wide variety of import and compliance services.
