A. Duie Pyle, a provider of asset and non-asset based transportation and supply chain solutions in the Northeast United States, announces the opening of its first service center in Hagerstown, Maryland. The company has also started construction on its newest integrated logistics center, which will serve the Hagerstown region.

Designed to extend the company’s coverage area to better serve customers, the new location is fully integrated with Pyle’s commercial transportation resources. The facility enhances Pyle’s Northeast network and provides immediate capacity and higher levels of service to customers in the region.

“Pyle has provided comprehensive service to the Hagerstown region for many years, making the area an ideal location for us to build on our commitment to our customers,” said John Luciani, chief operations officer for less-than-truckload (LTL) services, at A. Duie Pyle. “Opening a new service center means we will now have a physical presence in a leased facility for the immediate term. This will allow us to provide a higher level of service to our customers as we are investing in building a new, state-of-the-art integrated logistics center to add further capacity and offer a complete range of integrated transportation, warehousing and distribution services under one roof. The new service center will also give customers the ability to easily source multiple solutions to improve customer service, control costs and streamline operations.”

The 21-door service center is fully integrated with Pyle’s commercial transportation resources and provides immediate capacity for customers. The new integrated logistics center, which is scheduled to open in 2020, will include more than 80 cross-dock doors for expedited loading and unloading along with a 200,000-square-foot warehouse and full-service fleet maintenance garage. This future Hagerstown integrated logistics center will also provide warehousing with same- and next-day distribution, assembly and value-added project capabilities, final-mile delivery options, consolidation and de-consolidation, and complete integration with Pyle’s LTL, brokerage, custom dedicated, and warehouse and distribution solutions.

The Hagerstown service center is located in proximity to the Interstate-81 and I-70 corridors as well as nearby rail yards, offering quick and easy access to all major Northeast and mid-Atlantic metropolitan areas. The new location positions Pyle closer to its customers in the Hagerstown region, reduces travel times, and affords customers the ability to regionalize their supply and distribution networks.
