Yusen Logistics (Americas) Inc. is expanding in the Northeast to a larger facility located at the JFK International Airport Center in Springfield Gardens, New York.

The 32,134-square-foot warehouse opened in April this and currently employs a staff of 34. With a focus on driving international air freight growth, the facility will strengthen the service and capacity of the company’s freight-forwarding capabilities.

“The warehouse is larger than our previous facility and is in an ideal location to better service our customers,” says Haruho Tanaka, regional vice president, International Division, Yusen Logistics. “It allows us to expand our ongoing service options that include customs clearance, air and ocean freight forwarding, cargo screening, perishable shipments, special project shipments and warehousing.”

The state-of-the-art facility offers a wide range of import and export services for both air freight and ocean cargo shipments, allowing Yusen Logistics to keep pace with customer demands. It also features a walk-in cooler to handle the company’s growing perishables and pharmaceutical business.

The warehouse is Transportation and Safety Administration compatible and complies with all U.S. Customs regulations, including a bonded area and an office for cargo inspections. Located adjacent to the entrance of JFK International Airport, the warehouse is strategically positioned close to the area’s major highway system.
