  • Temperature controlled pharmaceutical packaging solutions market raked in $2.77 billion in 2016.
  • Temperature controlled packaging solutions market forecasted to grow at 9.3 percent per year through 2026.
  • Global cold chain equipment market expected to hit $118 billion by 2020.

In 2016, Pelican BioThermal, a global cold chain leader, now has new locations and strategic partnerships in 13 countries across four continents.

The company also added several strategic and distribution partners to its global network.

“Our growing global network supports customers wherever they are located and establishes reliable, reputable and productive partnerships that strengthen the brand as a whole,” said Pelican BioThermal President, David Williams.

Pelican’s offices and services centers include the facility in Plymouth, Minnesota, where an expanded manufacturing capability is used to support production of Chronos and CoolPall single-use temperature-controlled shippers in the U.S. The newly finished space includes an additional of 14,000 square feet—an increase of 20 percent production and warehouse space.

In Europe, a new European Service Center is designed to serve the global pharmaceutical sector, including reconditioning of the company’s Crēdo Cube range.

Collocated with their authorized distributor, Enviropac, the Singapore office serves as a newly created regional headquarters in Asia. It signals a significant development in Pelican BioThermal’s expanding presence and support network in the region. New local offices are located in South Korea, France, and Germany in order to deliver more timely customer and sales support with attention to time zones, language and culture.

To complement its network of Asian partners, Pelican BioThermal joined forces with the region’s distinguished distributors, Pharmaserv Express of the Philippines and CMC Element of China. The company also forged a new partnership with Asia’s leading healthcare services provider, Zuellig Pharma. Through this relationship, the Pelican BioThermal line of reusable Crēdo products now services cold chain needs in Malaysia, Vietnam, Philippines and Indonesia.

To expand distribution in Central and South America, Pelican BioThermal partnered with BioThermal Solutions of Chile, Kroytec of Mexico, and NatBio of Brazil. These partnerships align with Pelican BioThermal’s goal of expanded distribution within growing and emerging markets.

Pelican BioThermal is a division of Pelican Products, Inc., which is celebrating its 40th anniversary throughout 2016.
