The Australian Civil Aviation Safety Authority has granted the Cessna Aircraft Company the necessary certification to begin selling its new TTx civilian aircraft in Australia.

“With Australia’s active general aviation population, we see great potential for the high performance TTx,” said Doug May, vice president, Piston Aircraft.

The single-engine, fixed-gear aircraft can travel at 235-knots, making it the fastest aircraft in its class, with a maximum range of 1,250 miles and is built with a light-weight composite fuselage and wings.

According to the Kansas-based aircraft manufacturer, the TTx delivers 235 knots at high speed cruise along with an all-glass, touch-screen cockpit ‘ergonomically-designed’ around the pilot that features DirectControl technology and Garmin G2000 avionics.

“Whether it’s being used for personal travel or as an entry level business tool, the speed and precision of the TTx make it a natural fit for a country as large and economically dynamic as Australia,” added May.

Cessna Aircraft Company is a subsidiary of Textron Aviation Inc., a Textron Inc. company. In addition to Cessna, Textron’s other global brands include Bell Helicopter, Beechcraft, Hawker, Jacobsen, Kautex, and Lycoming.
