Amber Road, a provider of Global Trade Management (GTM) solutions, announced that its proprietary process for collecting, translating, interpreting and updating country-specific trade regulations has achieved ISO 9001:2008 recertification.

Amber Road commercialized trade content under the trade name Global Knowledge. In 2014, Global Knowledge was updated with over 13 million new records, with trade content sourced from government agencies in over 145 countries. Global Knowledge provides the intelligence to power Amber Road’s GTM solutions.

The ISO 9001:2008 is an internationally recognized set of standards for quality management systems.

The ISO 9001:2008 recertification process assessed the efficiency and quality of Amber Road’s Global Knowledge update process. Amber Road demonstrated its quality management system for its Global Knowledge update process consistently provides global trade content meeting customer and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements, enhances customer satisfaction, and includes continuous process improvement strategies.

“Collecting, cleansing and publishing trade content is complicated and time-consuming yet essential to maintaining compliance with the various trade regulations around the world,” said Patrick Connaughton, director of global trade at Agilent Technologies. “We rely on Amber Road’s solutions so that we can efficiently and confidently distribute our products and services around the world in each of our markets.”

Amber Road’s ISO 9001:2008-certified quality management system includes a number of best practice internal processes. It has an established, documented content update process to track updates from the initiation stage to completion and delivery to clients, and conducts routine internal audits and external audits of its entire content update process. Its update process also includes plans and strategies to anticipate and prevent potential problems.

“Achieving ISO 9001:2008 recertification demonstrates that what we say we do is what we do,” said Anthony Hardenburgh, vice president of global trade content at Amber Road. “We take our content and quality processes seriously.”

Amber Road’s Global Knowledge Update Process was originally awarded the ISO 9001:2008 standard certification for its quality management system in July 2012.
