Third party logistics provider Total Logistics Solutions has selected a new warehouse management system, Datex FootPrint WMS, to manage its Nebraska operation.

With both dry and cold storage warehouse conditions, Total Logistics Solutions needed warehouse management software that could handle a variety of temperature zones, capture and bill for all the value-added services they provide, and meet the individual billing and operational requirements of each of their many customers.

Located in Omaha, Nebraska, Total Logistics Solutions operates a 55,000 square foot warehouse facility with 4,000 pallet positions dedicated to freezer space, 1,000 to cooler space, and 5,000 to dry storage. The warehouse includes an electronically monitored temperature system as well as climate control in ambient warehouse areas and security access. Total Logistics Solutions has been certified by the United States Department of Agriculture and AIB International and is a FDA-registered facility.

Total Logistics Solutions was seeking warehouse management software that could handle the requirements of multiple customers, be used with RF mobile computing devices, and include temperature zone functionality. Electronic data interchange (EDI) and integrations with QuickBooks accounting software, shipping carriers and other critical systems were also system requirements.

“Our facility has ambient, cooler, and freezer temperature zones and can handle a wide array of goods,” explained John McCardle, the company’s general manager. “We were using another warehouse management system and found their upgrade fee to be excessive. We chose Datex WMS software Cloud version because it meets our needs and fits our budget.”

Datex FootPrint WMS is used by third party logistics providers, manufacturers, distributors, and other supply chain businesses across the world. The software was developed from the ground up using Microsoft tools including .NET, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and Microsoft Windows Workflow Foundation.

One of the elite one-percent of the top 640,000 partners in the Microsoft network, Datex has been evaluated and attained the highest level of partnership, the Microsoft Gold Partner Competency for Software Application Development. This designation sets apart Microsoft partners who are judged to provide the “highest levels of technical expertise and ability to meet customer needs”.
