Western Union Business Solutions, the international payments specialist, is now an official partner of Exporting is GREAT, the campaign delivered by the UK’s Department for International Trade (DIT).

Exporting is GREAT aims to inspire more businesses to take advantage of the global demand for UK goods and services. The government set an ambitious target to have 100,000 additional exporters by 2020, as a means of promoting British trade around the world.

By providing SMEs with a range of solutions to the financial complexities associated with international trade, Western Union Business Solutions was a logical partner for the campaign. Services offered by the company include cash management, risk management and international payments solutions. The new WU Edge platform facilitates businesses to establish durable connections, make intelligent cash flow decisions, and grow globally, which is consistent with the objectives of Exporting is GREAT.

“We are passionate about using our expertise to assist SMEs to engage with global trade,” said Kerry Agiasotis, President of Western Union Business Solutions. “The WU Edge platform allows companies do this in a simple way, and by becoming a partner of Exporting is GREAT even more businesses can benefit from our services. Working together with DIT helps us to provide the knowledge and support that SMEs desperately need to expand internationally.”

Western Union Business Solutions joins several other financial partners including the five major banks—Barclays, HSBC, Lloyds, RBS, and Santander—and the four big consultancies—EY, KPMG, Deloitte and PwC—who are all helping potential exporters make the most of international trade opportunities through a partnership with Exporting is GREAT.

“We want to help more UK businesses realize their potential and take advantage of the growth that exporting can bring,” said International Trade Minister Mark Garnier. “By partnering with companies like Western Union Business Solutions through our Exporting is GREAT campaign, together we can share expert advice and support with the UK’s businesses.”
