This is the first of a video series on the Trump administration’s proposed Section 232 national security tariffs on imported automobiles and automotive parts. This video describes the process the administration would go through to impose the 25-percent tariff on imported autos and auto parts, and the current inability of Congress or any other authority to check the president’s broad powers to impose these tariffs that experts estimate would result in the loss of 700,000 American jobs, increase the price of an automobile by as much as $6,900.
