The U.S. Airforwarders Association is urging the incoming Trump administration to prioritize infrastructure investment in its first 100 days.

Airforwarders have a vested interest in improving the underlying infrastructure that supply chains depend on to facilitate the delivery of thousands of shipments every day in the United States. Freight forwarders utilize all modes of transportation.

“We wholeheartedly agree with President-elect Trump’s desire to build the next generation of roads, bridges, railways, tunnels, seaports, and airports,” said AfA’s executive director Brandon Fried. “We understand that President-elect Trump will have many competing objectives in the first 100 days of his administration. We firmly believe that infrastructure investment right out the gate will have the most direct impact on U.S. citizens and businesses and will demonstrate that bipartisanship can work for all Americans.

“Time is money in our business,” Fried concluded, “and a better infrastructure equates to cost savings, more profits and ultimately the creation of more jobs in our industry. As a businessman, Mr. Trump gets the nexus to our industry.”

The Airforwarders Association represents more than 350 trade-focused companies and more than 300,000 employees who move air, land and sea cargo through the supply chain. The association’s members range from small businesses with fewer than 20 employees to large companies employing over 1,000 people and business models varying from domestic to worldwide freight forwarding operations.
