David J. Firestein, a senior vice president at the EastWest Institute, a New York-based think tank, says “China can become a part of the solution to the issue of job loss,” with investments in US infrastructure.

“Streamlining Chinese and other foreign investment in US infrastructure could help create jobs in the U.S. heartland,” said Firestein, “a potential starting point for a new, positive dynamic in the U.S.-China relationship.
