There is much truth in that adage, “If you bought it, a truck brought it.” Ships and planes transport products around the world, but the last stage in the journey to their final destination is frequently via truck. This is true not only of products reaching store shelves, but the transportation of raw materials to factories at the start of the manufacturing process. In the U.S alone, more than 80 percent of all communities rely on trucks for the delivery of food, fuel, clothing and medicine.
